Binance futures fees, explained with the math.
A reproducible reference for the USDT-M linear perpetual calculator, with archived COIN-M formulas retained for reference. The current calculator settles amounts in USDT. Leverage is not applied twice.
How to calculate Binance futures trading fees
No coin selection is needed in the current USDT-M calculator: fees use position size, quantity-weighted average fill prices and applicable rates. Use actual account rates for pair-specific exceptions. The COIN-M formulas below are archived reference only.
With both prices entered, a linear USDT-margined contract keeps the same position quantity between the opening and closing fills. The formulas below describe that two-sided trade. Fee rates are decimal fractions: 0.050% becomes 0.0005.
Quantity = entry notional ÷ entry price
Opening fee = quantity × entry price × entry fee rate
Closing fee = quantity × exit price × exit fee rate
Round-trip fees = opening fee + closing fee
Gross PnL = quantity × (exit price − entry price) × direction
Net PnL = gross PnL − round-trip fees − signed funding expense
Net return on margin = net PnL ÷ initial margin × 100%
Direction is +1 for a long and −1 for a short. Negative commission represents a rebate. With a fixed position value, changing leverage changes the margin and return percentage, not the trading fee amount. An immediately matched limit order may be taker; market orders are taker.
Only one price entered
A blank or zero price means that side is not entered; programmatic null or undefined prices are treated the same. The calculator charges only the entered side and assigns zero to the missing side's fee. It never substitutes the other price. A negative price or invalid number is an error, not a missing price. With neither price entered, both fees are estimated from the same position value: margin × leverage × the respective fee rate. No fill price or quantity is assumed. Funding, PnL, ROI and break-even are not calculated.
Quantity = single-side notional ÷ the entered price
Only entry entered: opening fee = single-side notional × entry fee rate; closing fee = 0
Only exit entered: opening fee = 0; closing fee = single-side notional × exit fee rate
When only an exit price is entered, the size input represents the closing notional, not an assumed opening value. When both prices are entered, the entry-anchored, constant-quantity formulas above apply. Funding settings are retained, but funding is not included without both prices. Gross and net PnL, ROI and break-even are not calculated in that case; their outputs display —.
BNB discount
Eligible BNB payment reduces positive standard USD-M commission by 10%: effective rate = rate × 0.9. It requires the applicable option to be enabled and sufficient BNB in the futures account. The calculator does not discount funding or negative maker rebates. If your custom rates already include BNB, the additional discount is disabled. Values remain USDT equivalents, not BNB token amounts.
Exact break-even price
Let E be entry price, q quantity, r₁ effective entry rate, r₂ effective exit rate, and F the signed estimated funding expense.
Short break-even = [E × (1 − r₁) − F ÷ q] ÷ (1 + r₂)
This solves for zero net PnL, including the closing fee at the break-even price. It is not the liquidation price or a price forecast. Extreme custom assumptions may have no positive break-even price.
Worked examples you can reproduce
BTC long: maker entry, taker exit
Illustrative prices, not live quotes: 1,000 USDT margin, 10× leverage, entry 65,000, exit 66,000, maker 0.020%, taker 0.050%, no BNB or funding.
| Entry position value | 10,000 USDT |
|---|---|
| BTC quantity | 0.153846154 |
| Opening fee | 2.000000 USDT |
| Closing position value | 10,153.846154 USDT |
| Closing fee | 5.076923 USDT |
| Round-trip fees | 7.076923 USDT |
| Gross PnL | 153.846154 USDT |
| Net PnL | 146.769231 USDT |
| Break-even price | 65,045.522761 USDT |
The rounded result is 7.08 USDT in fees and 146.77 USDT net profit. Calculations retain full precision; Binance can apply its own precision and rounding to actual fills.
Same-price round trip: four execution combinations
For a 10,000 USDT position opened and closed at the same price, using regular-user references:
| Entry / exit | Without BNB | Eligible BNB |
|---|---|---|
| Maker / maker | 4.00 USDT | 3.60 USDT |
| Maker / taker | 7.00 USDT | 6.30 USDT |
| Taker / maker | 7.00 USDT | 6.30 USDT |
| Taker / taker | 10.00 USDT | 9.00 USDT |
Archived COIN-M formulas
COIN-M calculation is temporarily unavailable in the current calculator. The following formulas, examples and dated references are retained as an archive.
COIN-M is an inverse model, not the USDT-M formula with a different currency label. Select a contract to identify its USD face value and settlement coin, then enter a positive whole number of contracts. Let n be the contract count, v the USD face value per contract, Q = n × v the total USD face value, E the average entry price in USD per coin, X the average exit price, L leverage, and d the direction (+1 long, −1 short). Rates below are decimal fractions, not percentage-point inputs.
Opening fee (coin) = Q ÷ E × entry fee rate r₁
Closing fee (coin) = Q ÷ X × exit fee rate r₂
Initial margin estimate (coin) = Q ÷ E ÷ L
Gross PnL (coin) = d × Q × (1 ÷ E − 1 ÷ X)
Net PnL (coin) = gross PnL − opening fee − closing fee − signed funding expense F
Net return on margin = net PnL ÷ initial margin estimate × 100%
The USD face value stays fixed while its coin value changes with price. Fees, margin, PnL, funding and the optional referral comparison are denominated in the selected settlement coin, not USDT or USD. Prices and break-even prices are USD per coin. The margin estimate excludes exchange order-cost reserves and is not an order-placement or liquidation requirement. Leverage does not multiply the fee again when the contract count is fixed.
Average fill prices for inverse contracts
Use the average fill price shown by Binance for each side. For fills in the same inverse contract, the appropriate average is harmonic and weighted by contract count: average price = Σ nᵢ ÷ Σ (nᵢ ÷ Pᵢ), where nᵢ is the contracts filled at price Pᵢ. Do not use an arithmetic average weighted by contract count. Different fee roles or rates across fills require separate calculations or an effective rate that reproduces their actual commission.
One-sided COIN-M fees
A blank or zero entry or exit price leaves that side's fee at zero. The entered side uses its own price: Q ÷ entered price × that side's fee rate. Exit-only sizing estimates margin as Q ÷ X ÷ L for context; it does not infer the original opening margin. Both prices are required for funding, PnL, ROI and break-even. The contract count must be an integer; the tool does not silently round fractional contracts.
Inverse break-even price
F is the signed funding expense in the settlement coin, positive when paid and negative when received. These equations solve for zero net coin PnL while recalculating the closing fee at the break-even price.
Short break-even (USD/coin) = (1 − r₂) ÷ [(1 + r₁) ÷ E + F ÷ Q]
A nonpositive or nonfinite solution is not shown as a valid break-even price. Break-even is not a liquidation price, forecast or guarantee.
COIN-M BTC example
Illustrative prices, not live quotes: 100 BTCUSD_PERP contracts × 100 USD = 10,000 USD face value, 10× leverage, entry 50,000 USD/BTC, exit 55,000 USD/BTC, maker 0.020%, taker 0.050%, no funding. The rates are the historical reference described below, not a current account quote.
| Opening fee | 0.000040000 BTC |
|---|---|
| Closing fee | 0.000090909 BTC |
| Round-trip fees | 0.000130909 BTC |
| Initial margin estimate | 0.020000000 BTC |
| Gross PnL | 0.018181818 BTC |
| Net PnL | 0.018050909 BTC |
| Break-even price | 50,035.007001 USD/BTC |
The opening fee is 0.200000000 BTC × 0.0002 and the closing fee is 0.181818182 BTC × 0.0005. The closing coin value is different even though the USD contract face value is unchanged. Full precision is retained before display rounding.
COIN-M fee and contract provenance
The regular-user COIN-M reference is maker 0.020% and taker 0.050%, from Binance's fee-adjustment announcement published on 18 September 2023 and effective 26 September 2023. We reviewed that announcement on 22 October 2026, but the current COIN-M fee table returned no records. These are historical published reference rates, not a verified current fee schedule or account quote. Confirm the rates in your Binance account and enter custom rates for VIP levels, promotions or any difference. The USDT-M VIP table below must not be reused for COIN-M.
The archived contract selector contained 20 trading perpetual contracts from Binance's public exchangeInfo snapshot checked at 2026-10-22T14:43:38.569Z. BTCUSD_PERP has a 100 USD face value per contract; the other 19 contracts in that snapshot have a 10 USD face value. It excludes delivery contracts and is not a live catalogue or quote feed. Availability, contract specifications and leverage limits can change. Check Binance's current contract rules before trading. The official BNB futures-payment discount applies to USDⓈ-M, so no BNB discount is applied to COIN-M.

Funding is separate from trading commission
Actual USDT-M funding uses quantity × settlement mark price. This calculator cannot know future marks or rates. Its optional estimate holds entry notional and the entered rate constant at every settlement, and applies only when both prices are entered.
At a positive rate, longs pay and shorts receive; negative rates reverse the flow. For 10,000 USDT, a 0.010% rate and two settlements, a long pays an estimated 2.00 USDT and a short receives 2.00 USDT. Only settlements through which you hold a position count. Intervals vary by contract and can change, so the tool asks for settlement count rather than assuming a fixed 8-hour interval.
How the 20% referral comparison works
Published fee presets remain unchanged. When the rebate is selected and eligible, estimated total fees and the fee-to-margin ratio deduct it; estimated net PnL, ROI and break-even include it. Unselected or ineligible rebates contribute zero. These are estimates, not an upfront rate reduction, instant payment or verified account statement.
Estimated total fees = trading fees after BNB savings − selected eligible referral return
Estimated net PnL = gross PnL − estimated total fees − signed funding expense
Estimated fee-to-margin ratio = estimated total fees ÷ initial margin × 100%
For break-even estimates, apply the selected eligible rebate to each after-BNB trading rate: r′ = r × (1 − 20%). Use r′ in the USDT-M and COIN-M break-even formulas above. Funding remains unchanged; an unselected or ineligible rebate leaves the rates unchanged.
With only one price entered, only that side's calculated fee is included; the missing side stays at zero. Funding, liquidation charges, slippage and other non-trading costs are excluded from the rebate. For eligible FEE2020 trades, apply any eligible BNB discount first, then estimate the 20% referral return on the remaining trading fees. For example, 10 USDT in standard fees becomes 9 USDT after a 10% BNB discount; a 1.80 USDT return leaves a 7.20 USDT reference cost. The percentages are applied sequentially, not added together. Published VIP 3 or higher tiers and negative commission rates are excluded from the estimate. Custom rates require explicit confirmation that they do not already include referral returns and that the account is eligible.
FEE2020 offer and provenance
The site owner confirmed on 22 October 2026 that invitation code FEE2020 is configured to return 20% of eligible spot and futures trading fees to referred users. The site owner separately confirmed BNB stacking for FEE2020 on 24 October 2026. This is owner-provided offer information, not an authenticated Binance API verification. The current calculator models USDT-M linear perpetual futures only, with fee and rebate amounts in USDT. It does not calculate COIN-M or spot fees. New-user eligibility, region, account status, tier, eligible trades, payment timing and the current offer are subject to Binance's registration page and account rules.

Scope and limitations
The current calculator supports USDT-M linear perpetuals only, not COIN-M, USDC promotional rates, options, delivery fees or liquidation estimates. The model supports one entered side, or one entry and one exit with unchanged quantity. A missing side has zero trading fee; funding and profitability outputs require both prices. It excludes slippage, liquidation charges, partial-fill fee variation, exchange rounding and collateral changes. The 1–150× integer input is a modeling range, not a claim that every contract, position size or account supports 150×. The margin model does not include complete exchange order-cost requirements. COIN-M formulas and dated sources are archived reference only.
All inputs and calculations remain in your browser. No exchange account connection or API key is requested. This is a cost-estimation tool, not financial advice.
